If you’ve ever had your eyebrows microbladed then you know the downtime is about 14 days. You can’t get them wet for 24 hours and you need to avoid sweating and hot showers for at least 3 days. You won’t be able to wash the brow area for 14 days. Not getting them wet in that initial 24 hour period is pretty easy but it gets inconvenient the days to follow. Insert the BrowCap. They are essentially a shower cap for your brows. My esthetician gave them to me after our last session and I have to be honest, I was skeptical. I have oily skin and I was feeling doubtful that they would stick properly, but it was worth a try!
The directions state to remove all makeup around your brows. I didn’t have any makeup on but I did clean the area around my brows hoping that would help them stick. You then take the adhesive backing off and press them on your brows. It says to firmly press and rub on your skin for about 10-15 seconds. I had to press it on for about 45 seconds before I felt it was secure. Once it is on, there is an adhesive film on the front that you remove. I hopped in the shower making sure to avoid getting water sprayed directly on my brows. The packaging also states to avoid excess steam so I turned down the water temperature just a bit.
As I was washing my hair I could feel the water going down my forehead and I honestly could have SWORN that water was getting in the cap. I felt pretty bummed as I was really hoping that these would work. I got out of the shower and patted my face dry. I then took off the caps and my brows were DRY! They actually worked!
We spend so much money on microblading. It’s unfortunate that something as simple as water and heat can impair our results. With BrowCap, we can maximize the healing process. You can get a 2 day supply on their website here for only $7.99. They’re inexpensive and definitely worth trying in my opinion.
